Traditional & Contemporary Courtyard Gardens

Two complementary sunken courtyards that link different styles of entrance. One, a formal front door to a large country house, the other a simple and secret space leading to a modern studio. We created a link between the two courtyards by using traditional box hedging, Yorkstone and fine gravel in both areas. A cantilevered portico entrance was given formality and dignity by the use of topiary place in symmetry and distinctive sculpture. A sheltered retreat was given a Mediterranean feel by planting a single silvery olive tree and scented lavender.
