Urban Retreat

This modern retreat was designed with bold use of the vertical plane, rendered walls, slate paving and painted boundaries. Drama was achieved by the use of pergolas designed on an axis. Shadows caste from the pergola take full advantage of the south facing aspect. Cool purple, pink and mauve planting add to an oasis of calm.
